Remember being on a swing, closing your eyes, and pumping so hard and
fast you could feel the wind whip across your face?
Remember lying awake and hearing crickets chirping and bullfrogs croaking
in the otherwise quiet night?
Remember the glow of the campfire and watching marshmallows melt or burn
as you held a long stick over the burning embers?
Remember sitting outside on a clear night, looking at stars or the moon
so bright?
Remember the fresh, sweet smell of the grass just mown or a flower newly
bloomed?
Remember seeing beautiful rainbows, sometimes even double ones, on an
otherwise dreary, wet day?
Things we experienced as a child yet often repeated as young adults and
“mature” adults. Touches, sounds, sights
and smells still available to us if we take the time to enjoy these simple
pleasures.
